Terrasini

This is sunset at the waterfront in Terrasini. Sicilians love a cactus.

Mount Etna. Didn't go off, though.

Waking up at 3am has its benefits. This is the moon over Golfo di Castellamare

Limano

 Limano, perched on the hillside

The streets are full of archways, bridges, twists and turns.

Looking down on the village from a nearby hill before the morning fog has lifted.

Vico Pancellorum, a nearby village, in the morning mist. Arty.

Verona

Before leaving Grindelwald we checked the dates we were supposed to be in Limano. It turned out that we were leaving Grindelwald on the second and booked in at Limano from the third. The landlady at Limano was unable to change the booking, so it was time to come up with a plan B. We decided on Verona because of the Rome and Juliet connection. We also saw the possibility of a quick visit to Venice the following day. We got off the freeway at Verona and queued up at the tollway paystation. Someone ahead seemed to be having trouble with paying so it seemed wise to back up and  enter another lane. The visibility in the van is very poor, and despite a check in all mirrors, I managed to overlook a little Belgian car behind me.

He poinjted to some damage on his car and claimed it had just happened. I argued wiith him, and his daughter got out and argued with him.

In Verona they were holding the first night of their famous opera season. La Traviata was being performed in the ancient Arena.

We also visited the balcony which has become touted in the last few years as Juliet's.
